We have compiled the following list of frequently asked questions and are always open to suggestions for others.
Q. Do you have a catalog?
A. This website is our catalog. A printable version is available, just contact us.
It is in Adobe PDF format, so if you need Adobe Reader you can download it for free here.
Q. Where are you located?
A. Creature Crates currently does not have a store front. We are located in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area of Texas.
Q. How do I take care of the products?
A. Any latex piece should be kept in a cool dry place. The best environment would be a case that is
air tight and dust free with no exposure to the sun. A plastic bag can be used to lightly put over
any piece to keep the dust off of it assuming that the area is cool enough and dry enough. You want
to avoid putting a plastic bag over a piece if condensation could form in the bag. Latex is an organic
material and is capable of rotting over time if not taken care of. A mask should be stored on a
Styrofoam wig head that can be purchased at any local beauty supply store. These heads usually have a
hole in the bottom of them as well that can be placed on a dowel to keep the mask from touching any
other surface. A chest piece is best stored on a mannequin bust to keep the roundness of the shoulders.
One could also use a plastic wide coat hanger normally used in department stores for heavy coats, or a
custom-made padded wooden structure. A set of hands should be filled carefully with a cloth to retain
their original shape and stored on a post that stops them from touching any other surface while still
keeping their shape. Do not rub the outside of any piece or it will eventually destroy the paint job.
After wearing a mask it should be wiped out with rubbing alcohol on the inside and lightly sprayed with
a disinfectant.
Q. My head is rather large, can I cut the masks to make them fit?
A. First, when you put a latex piece on it is best to lightly sprinkle baby powder in the piece to
help it slide on with the least amount of strain on the piece itself (and your head). If necessary,
though, you may put a cut in the back of the mask so you can get it on and wear it comfortably. Make
sure you put a small circular cut at the top of the slit. This is very important to help prevent the
mask from tearing over time. Do not be afraid to cut into any mask if it will help with breathing,
vision, or hearing. All of these things are vital especially if a piece is going to be worn for many
hours at a time.
